hadid tries to sell partial construction at cedarbrook
As of this writing, a Santa Monica Jury is currently deliberating on whether to find Hadid liable to the Bel Air neighbors that sued him for $26 million dollars . With more potential multi-million dollar judgments being entered against him soon (he’s already nearing $100 million in unpaid claims, judgments, tax liens, bankruptcy debts, etc.), Hadid now appears to be trying to unload this unfinished Franklin Canyon property at 9650 Cedarbrook for $250 million. Check out the Forbes Article about the sale: $250 Million: Mohamed Hadid Seeks Record Price For L.A.’s Largest Permitted Compound (forbes.com)
Contrary to Hadid's marketing claims (and the Forbes article), the property at 9650 Cedarbrook does NOT appear to be fully permitted as of September 1, 2021. Here are two important building permits which appear to have NOT YET been issued:
0872 Clarification Details NOT ISSUED
0872 Height Revision NOT ISSUED
(Caveat: we are not privy to direct communications between LADBS and Hadid’s camp so the publicly available information from the Los Angeles Department of Building & Safety may not be complete.)
Apart from the apparent absence of permits, our independent engineering review indicates that LADBS may soon even revoke permits because of the existence of illegal retaining walls, grading violations and excessive building envelope height at Cedarbrook. More on this later. Stay tuned.
